From Oil Heating to a Combined Energy System

In Mils, an oil-fired heating system that consumed about 3,800 liters per year had previously met the building’s heating needs. Due to the structural and geological conditions of the property, a brine heat pump with a deep borehole was not an option—instead, an OVUM AC520P air-source heat pump was chosen. The system is supplemented by a 1,000-liter fresh water station, a photovoltaic system with battery storage, a wallbox for electric vehicles, and wall heating with clay plaster.

Due to accessibility issues, the plant was lowered into the basement by crane through a light well rather than via the regular stairwell.
