Hot Water Storage Tank & Fresh Water System

Fresh Water System
The integrated fresh water system heats drinking water only when it is actually needed. This ensures that hot drinking water is not stored in the tank for extended periods of time, thereby reducing the risk of Legionella growth. This ensures hygienic hot water preparation.
Reduced installation time
With the Cube storage system, the key hydraulic components are already preassembled and calibrated to work together. This significantly shortens installation time while also reducing potential sources of error during installation. Faster installation and commissioning save labor time and thus also reduce installation costs.
Intelligent Controller
The Cube storage system is controlled via the smart MIRA Controller. The intuitive user interface is designed like a smartphone and makes the entire Plant easy to control. MIRA not only controls the Cube storage tank and the heat pump, but also takes weather forecasts and the output of the PV plant into account. This ensures that energy is used proactively and as cost-effectively as possible.

The MIRA controller intelligently integrates the heat pump, hot water production, buffer storage, cooling, and utilization of excess PV energy. This allows all components to work together seamlessly, enabling energy to be used efficiently and proactively.

Yes. OVUM heat pumps are all-in-one systems for heating, cooling, and hot water. The CUBIC and Cube storage units support both active and passive cooling—with the Cube storage unit, the switchover occurs fully automatically via integrated shut-off valves.
Generally not: The Cube storage tank already has a built-in buffer storage function. It optimizes the heat pump’s operating times and perfectly decouples heat generation from the heating circuit—gently on the materials and efficiently.
The hygienic fresh-water system in the Cube storage tank heats the domestic water only at the exact moment the faucet is turned on. There is no standing hot water in the tank—which significantly reduces the risk of Legionella. Fresh, clean, and safe.
Up to 19.3 kWh of heat. The Cube storage tank is available in two sizes: the Cube 500 with a storage capacity of 480 liters and the Cube 700 with a storage capacity of 680 liters. Both operate with distinct temperature stratification—hot water at the top, cooler water at the bottom—thereby delivering consistently comfortable hot water temperatures.
The practical benefit: Instead of feeding excess PV electricity into the grid for just a few cents, you can store it as heat and use it in the evening. The plant draws exactly the amount of power that’s currently available—even if it’s only a few hundred watts, depending on the type of heat pump.

The outdoor AirCube measures 113 × 80 × 100 cm (2–8 kW) or 158 × 80 × 100 cm (3–20 kW), depending on the power level, and stands out for its low profile. Thanks to just 150 g of R290 per module, the CUBIC can be installed inside a building without any additional safety measures.
You don’t need a traditional boiler room. The Cube storage unit combines storage, hydraulics, and a Controller in a footprint of about 1 m²—that’s less space than a gas boiler with a separate water heater takes up. Thanks to its very small amount of refrigerant, the CUBIC requires no additional safety measures for indoor installation. It can therefore be installed “in standard utility or auxiliary rooms without any special structural requirements.” Thanks to its low profile, the ACP series offers great flexibility in installation. Please note the safety clearances that must be maintained due to the use of R290 refrigerant.
The Thermotresor is a casing that insulates and protects both the storage tank and all hydraulic components in the Ovum Cube storage system. Thanks to the Thermotresor, standby losses are reduced by up to 50%, since most of the heating pipes are already well insulated.
