An AC417P air-source heat pump provides both heating and hot water. A combined tank buffers the heat, and the solar integration system supports hot water and heating loads.
This results in a reduction of approximately 15,000 kWh of gas per year—in favor of geothermal and solar energy.

From Gas Heating to a Combination System
Previously, a gas heating plant with an annual consumption of approximately 15,000 kWh met the building’s heating needs. MECO handled the planning, dismantling of the old plant, and the complete new installation as a turnkey solution. Since the conversion, an OVUM AC417P heat pump, combined with a combined tank and a solar integration system, has been providing heating and hot water.

How Combined Tanks and Solar Integration Work Together
The combined tank stores heat for both space heating and hot water, rather than storing them separately. The integration of solar energy further supports this system. Electricity is required to operate the heat pump; the amount needed depends, among other factors, on the building, its insulation standards, and occupancy patterns.
