In Vomp, Ovum AC208P with M+ control is replacing the old gas heating system. Gas consumption had previously been around 13,000 kWh per year.

From a gas connection to a heat pump
In a residential building in Vomp, a gas boiler—which consumed approximately 13,000 kWh per year—had previously met the building’s heating needs. MECO oversaw the project from the planning phase through the removal of the old plant to the installation of the new heat pump. Since the conversion, an OVUM AC208P heat pump with MIRA Plus Controller has been providing heating and hot water.

What Will Change as a Result of the Transition
With the elimination of gas consumption, there is no longer a reliance on a gas connection. Instead, the heat pump draws its energy from the ambient air, controlled by the MIRA Plus Controller. The Controller requires electricity to operate the plant, the amount of which depends, among other factors, on the building, insulation standards, and individual usage patterns.
Incentives for Replacing Heating Systems
In Austria, federal and state subsidies are available for switching from a fossil-fuel heating system to a heat pump. The actual amount of the subsidy depends on the specific project and the subsidy programs currently in effect.
