Our Mission:
We set the standard for heat pump systems that use natural refrigerants. Our decades of experience as developers, manufacturers, and users are reflected in our well-designed solutions for air, ground, and water, making high-performance technology easy to use.
In 2022, with the AirCube, we developed the first air-source Heat Pump with a SCOP of over 6, tested in accordance with EN 14825 at the independent Buchs Test Center.
With the CUBIC, we have developed the first modular, stackable Brine Heat Pump designed for easy indoor installation. Using just 150 grams of propane per module, it does not require a gas detection system or forced ventilation.
The CubeTank combines nine functions in a single device—all within a footprint of just 1 m².
MIRA takes weather forecasts and PV output into account and heats the home when costs are lowest. Smart and forward-thinking.
Every OVUM Heat Pump is manufactured in Kirchbichl, Tyrol—from the initial design through to delivery.
OVUM air-source Heat Pumps can reach a flow temperature of up to 70 degrees, making them ideal not only for new construction but especially for retrofits.
In Development:
OVUM’s Efficiency Pilot will help reduce energy costs even further starting in 2027. It intelligently connects the entire building without requiring any additional components. A heat usage schedule becomes an efficiency pilot for the entire home.
Every Heat Pump is thoroughly tested before shipment to ensure long-lasting, trouble-free operation. In addition, we use only high-quality materials to ensure the longest possible service life.
The Heat Pump, storage system, and smart Controller—all designed to work together—come from a single manufacturer and are carefully installed by an OVUM specialist partner.
In 1993, our owner and founder, Peter Krimbacher, began developing Heat Pumps.

An OVUM Heat Pump uses free environmental heat—from the outside air (AirCube) or from sources such as the ground (CUBIC)—and raises it to the temperature required for heating and hot water using very little electricity. This process generates up to 6 kWh of heat from 1 kWh of electricity (SCOP 6.02, tested by the independent testing institute WPZ Buchs, Switzerland, 2022). The natural refrigerant R290 (propane) is used, and the system is controlled by the intelligent MIRA operating system.
